The founders of Village Underground are turning an art deco cinema in Hackney into a brand new venue, set to become East London’s answer to the Roundhouse.
The team are famed for turning a Shoreditch warehouse into one of London’s top clubs 11 years ago, so we’re excited to see this amazing new addition to London’s music and arts venues.
The cinema in question originally opened in 1936, but closed down 48 years later and has been left derelict since.
The new venue will be a hub for all things art – from talks and comedy to poetry, dance and music. There’ll also be a big focus on up-and-coming local talent.
The new space will be open by Spring 2018 – so enquire now if you’d like to be amongst the first to host an event here!
