IWM London’s famous façade is a stunning Grade II listed building that was formerly home to the Royal Bethlem Hospital.

Located in Central London close to the City, Westminster and Southbank, IWM London’s famous façade is a stunning Grade II listed building that was formerly home to the Royal Bethlem

Hospital. IWM London has recently been transformed, with a spectacular new Atrium forming the heart of the museum and a breath-taking hanging gallery in the rooftop providing dramatic views of the floors beneath.

IWM London provides the perfect showcase for events big and small, traditional and low-key or high profile and inspirational. IWM London is the flagship venue for Imperial War Museums (IWM), founded in 1917. It is the perfect venue for event organisers of strong brands, exciting innovators and forward-thinking organisations.

IWM London’s ever changing temporary exhibitions and prestigious permanent displays can add fascinating elements to events, especially when combined with private tours of the galleries.

For Summer Parties, IWM London offers an array of light filled indoor spaces – perfect for events that do not want to take the risk with our Great British Weather!

    Orpen Boardoom

Looking out of the windows of the Orpen Boardroom you can gaze down to the museum’s iconic front entrance and the two naval guns. This impressive room is ideal for intimate receptions and dinners, surrounded by works of art by First World War artist Dir William Orpen. In addition, the internal balcony outside allows your guests to enjoy a full view into the Atrium.

    Roof Terrace

Dramatically suspended from the barrel vaulted glass roof of IWM London and as if hanging in mid-air, the Roof Terrace is a spectacular and contemporary addition in the transformation of the museum. Designed by Foster + Partners, the Roof Terrace with its dramatic bridge and views of the galleries below combine the most innovative modern design and technology of the 21st Century.

From the Roof Terrace you have a spectacular view of the Dome, once the chapel belonging to Bedlam, designed by Sidney Smirke. The Roof Terrace is an inspiring space for any corporate client to host a reception, throughout the day and evening, bathed in natural daylight

    Atrium

Entertain your guests amongst some of IWM London’s most important exhibits, including a number of dramatically suspended iconic aircraft.

The stunning 25m-high space benefits from great flexibility. The large exhibits on display include a rare Battle of Britain Spitfire; a Harrier jet used in Afghanistan and a German V2 rocket. These exhibits create an impactful and thought-provoking entrance for guests and provide talking points throughout an event. Make use of the entire museum and hold pre-dinner drinks downstairs in the Atrium or make your way up to the balconies on level 1 or 2 or the Roof Terrace which brings you nearer to our larger exhibits.
