If you’re planning your next team-building event and looking for some ideas and inspiration, here are our top tips on what to consider when choosing your venue. We work with Eventwise for all our team-building activities.
Four things to consider for your next team-building venue
1. Capacity
Make sure your next team-building venue in London has enough space for the total number of guests you intend to invite – and the type of team-building activities you’re planning. Some exercises may only be suitable for indoor or outdoor venues, while others may require a minimum amount of space to meet health and safety requirements.
2. Location
Choose a team-building venue with good public transport links so your guests will be able to travel to and from the event without trouble. Perhaps you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and take your guests to a team-building venue away from the city? Then consider the beautiful Conservatory at Painshill in Surrey, reachable via train from Waterloo or Vauxhall to Cobham & Stoke D’Abernon followed by a short taxi journey. It has a huge private garden that is perfect for team-building exercises, and a luxury seating room with space for up to 320 guests.
Or, if you’d prefer a scenic London team-building venue, you could choose the London Zoo or ‘Inn The Park’ at St James’s Park, both of which have picturesque surroundings with indoor and outdoor space.
3. The theme of your team-building activities
Choose your team-building theme. For example, if you’re planning something outdoors, booking a venue with spacious private lawns will enable your team to get involved in various exercises without being disturbed.
One of Eventwise’s most popular indoor team-building activities is ‘Box of tricks’, where your staff will get seriously creative as they build anything from marshmallow and spaghetti pylons to tin foil giraffes. Another is ‘High roller’, where 300 people will be divided into six teams of 50 to construct different sections of a roller coaster. Alternatively, you could book an outdoor London team-building venue for ‘It’s a Knockout’, where your staff will take part in up to six adrenaline-boosting knockout games, all under the watchful eyes of experienced instructors.
4. The flexibility of your venue
Beat the British weather by booking a London team-building venue with a mixture of indoor and outdoor space so you won’t have to postpone the event in case it rains. With blank canvas meeting rooms available in many of our venues, you can also arrange more specialised exercises and break up your team into smaller groups.
