Great venues for drinks reception

Five fantastic venues for a drinks reception in London

1 – The OXO2, Southbank

One of London’s most famous restaurants, the OXO2 on the Southbank near Blackfriars has one of the best panoramic views in the city.  The tower was originally a power station when it was built in the late 19th century, and was redeveloped by the famous Oxo food brand in the 1980s and 1990s.

As a blank canvas space, the OXO2 is extremely flexible, with two gallery-style rooms and a total capacity of 400 for drinks receptions.

2 – The Saatchi Gallery, Chelsea

Book a drinks reception at one of London’s leading contemporary art galleries, in the exclusive neighbourhood of Chelsea. The chic Saatchi Gallery has 70,000 square feet of space for hire, and is used for everything from fashion events to incredible parties and corporate conferences.

With a capacity of 1,500 for standing receptions, it’s the perfect event venue in London for large events. Each gallery can also be hired individually if you’d like to book a smaller drinks reception.

3 – Stationers’ Hall, the City

One of only a few ancient Livery Halls still operating in London today, this venue is known for its grand stained-glass windows and 17th-century oak panelling, and includes several luxurious rooms for private functions. Stationers’ Hall has a standing capacity of 400 for those who wish to hire the entire venue, although you can also hire each room separately for a smaller reception.

4 – Alexandra Palace, between East Finchley and Wood Green

Another venue renowned for its panoramic views of central London, Alexandra Palace is a 19th-century Grade II-Listed landmark with nine interconnected spaces for stunning events. It can accommodate up to 10,000 guests for drinks receptions, so it’s a great event venue in London for large, high-impact events.

5 – The Earth Halls, South Kensington

Take your guests to the Earth Halls of the Natural History Museum, one of London’s leading attractions. With spectacular lighting, a huge metallic globe, and space for up to 500 standing guests, it’s a magical setting for small- or medium-sized receptions.
