Winter is here, but that’s no reason to stay in! We’ve put together a list of the best new restaurants to try this festive season.
THE HOLY BIRDS, LIVERPOOL STREET E1
If you like poultry you need to head to this new City restaurant, specializing in free range birds including chicken, duck, wood pidgeon, quail and pheasant. There’ll also be cocktails from the founders’ father: Savatore Calabrese.
QUILOMBERO, EAST INDIA DOCK E14
A new restaurant for East London, Quilombero is the product of two ex-Rita’s alumni, Missy Flynn, one of Rita’s founders and chef Gabriel Pryce. It’s influenced by Italian migration to Argentina, so the restaurant is a culinary meeting of those two cuisines. We can’t wait.
LOBOS MEAT AND TAPAS, SOHO W1We’re big fans of the London Bridge outpost of this Spanish tapas bar. The new Soho space will continue the focus on Iberian meat and classic tapas dishes.
Who doesn’t like chips and dip? The Soho restaurant will be serving freshly made chips with homemade dips, all from a special crisp conveyor belt.
St James’s Market will be home to Anzu, a new restaurant by the people behind Tonkotsu. There’ll be a more upmarket offering and king crab gyoza. Need we say more?
LONDON SHELL COMPANY, LITTLE VENICE W2
Another pop-up turned restaurant, London Shell Company will be serving seasonal seafood, popping up at Regent’s Canal and even serving dinner on the move.
Aussie brunch chain Beany Green is coming to Victoria this December, with its unusual combinations and great coffee we predict this will be the place to go for lazy brunches.
