The Luna Cinema – One New Change, City
On a calm, warm evening, few places are as enchanting as the Luna Cinema at One New Change, a large outdoor cinema with magical views of St Paul’s Cathedral (just metres away) and the rest of the London skyline. It’s just a short walk from some of the most popular events venues in London, such as Plaisterers’ Hall and Austin Friars.
The next screening at One New Change, on Sunday, September 17th, is the 1990 blockbuster ‘Ghost’, which won two Academy Awards: one for best writing (Bruce Joel Rubin) and another for best actress in a supporting role (Whoopi Goldberg). Treat yourself to a mouthwatering wood-fired pizza or a gourmet burger accompanied with a glass of wine or a nice chilled beer.
Entry: Tickets to watch a screening at the Luna at One New Change are £20 or £32.50 for premium seats (no children tickets), and groups of 10 or more benefit from a £1 discount for each ticket.
The Rooftop Film Club, Peckham
Head to one of South London’s biggest attractions, the Rooftop Film Club in Peckham, one of four such venues in London (the others being the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch, Roof East in Stratford, and the Roof Gardens in Kensington,). Visit the Rooftop Bar for some fantastic cocktails and food, and enjoy another superb panoramic view of central London.
Watch the latest big movies such as La La Land starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, or Get Out with Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams. Or, if you’d prefer something more vintage, you can watch beloved classics like Sixteen Candles (1984) with Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) starring Richard O’Brien, Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, or Heat (1995) with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.

Miami Beach at The Backyard Cinema, near Borough
Featuring a private beach, the Backyard Cinema is the perfect oasis from the hustle and bustle, with an exotic Flamingo Beach Bar and a roof so you can chill out in your flip flops whatever the weather. From classics like Big (1988) starring Tom Hanks to recent films like Moonlight (2016) with Trevante Rhodes and Mahershala Ali, this stunning outdoor cinema on the Mercato Metropolitano has to be experienced.
The Backyard Cinema is between Elephant and Castle and Borough underground stations, and a short tube journey from numerous London events venues. Don’t forget to try the delicious seafood or smoked ribs from the barbecue.
Entry: Tickets start at £16.50 for most films, and for £8 more you’ll get to choose your own themed cocktail, too. Alternatively, you can get two tickets, a bottle of fizz, two ice creams, two blankets and two popcorns for £69.
