Soho restaurant Blacklock is the place to go for all in chops and meaty bread. Now Blacklock’s opening its second restaurant, in the City, and adding a few more dishes to its menu too. The restaurant will even take reservations, so forget queueing the rain!
THE GAME BIRD AT THE STAFFORD, ST JAMES SW1
The Stafford Hotel is getting a huge refurb and when it re-opens the restaurant will have James Durrant at the helm. Expect a lot of game on the menu, which will be an ultra-British affair.
MAPLE AND KINGS, KING’S CROSS N1
A second restaurant from the team behind the original Maple and Fitz, this restaurant brings healthy eating to King’s Cross with salad bowls, cold pressed juices and gluten-free desserts.
PIZZA PILGRIMS, SHOREDITCH EC1
The latest Pizza Pilgrims is opening in East London. Diners will also be able to bring chocolate bars to be turned into dessert calzones, and the local off licenses has a fridge of Italian wine so you can BYOB in style.
Another street food vendor opens its first restaurant. This time it’s Bubblewrap, a Hong Kong egg waffle stall serving mix-and-match street food from east Asia.
Who doesn’t love cheese? The Cheese Truck has been roaming the streets of London serving up some of the best cheese toasties ever for years now. This is their first permanent spot, in Camden’s famous Stables Market.
You don’t need to jump on a Eurostar to satisfy your urge to feast on raclette, tartines and croissants. Head to this new Parisian-style bistro just around the corner from Kings Cross.
